About
“My vision is to highlight ‘Who Made Your Clothes?”
“Enabling every customer to see exactly how the production process from the sketch to the dress is made.”
Ali – Fashion Designer and AmberRoux owner
Fair fashion ethics and sustainability are the main priorities for AmberRoux.
Ali has been a witness first-hand to the harmful impact of the fast-fashion industry.
Therefore choosing to implement conscious production in small quantities, focusing on fair labour and values, and re-purposing dead-stock fabrics are fundamental.
About Ali
Ali graduated from the London College of Fashion. After hosting fashion shows in London she decided to travel. She first came to Thailand as a tourist shortly after the terrible Tsunami in 2004.
Falling in love with the local people, culture and way of life, it was Phi Phi Island that surprisingly turned out as her base for the next 10 years.
During this time whilst travelling back and forth to London working for designers at high-street level and at fashion weeks, her experience of the industry enabled Ali to return to Thailand to source production and create her own label.
AmberRoux has now been established since 2010.
Each of her pieces are self-designed, sampled and pattern-cut inspired by a mixture of cultures which have been reflected in the fabric choice and design. Each piece has been carefully thought out to fit and flatter each figure type.
Ali owned AmberRoux’s clothing shop on Phi Phi Island for 6 years and attracted customers from all over the world. This diverse customer insight provided the assurance that AmberRoux could continue to be produced and sold on a larger scale.
Now moving her collection online, Ali is able to expand her design range. She has always kept her passion for classic British design and styling so has returned to the UK to expand her label.
AmberRoux is a lifestyle formed by a love for what she does. Ali has succeeded to run her own business in Thailand, creating a brand defining her niche.
Living the Thai way of life for so long and experiencing the fast-paced fashion industry in Bangkok, whilst having previously worked in London, are both a diverse and exciting combination to create such a label which appeals to both Asian and European markets.
This dramatic mix of culture is what signatures AmberRoux as a unique designer label.
